New Jersey Division of Elections Offers Suggestions
to Avoid lines on Election Day

Trenton, NJ - The New Jersey Division of Elections anticipates a record number of New Jerseyans will turn out to the polls, and offers a few suggestions to avoid long lines on November 4. The polls in New Jersey will be open from 6 am to 8 pm.

- When visiting your polling place, please be patient. Election officials will be working diligently to keep the lines moving as quickly as possible.

- Please try to go to your polling place during off-peak hours between 10 am and 3 pm when the lines will be shorter.

- Vote by mail using an absentee ballot as a convenient alternative to visiting a polling place to vote in the General Election.

- Registered voters in New Jersey interested in voting by absentee ballot are encouraged to visit the Division of Elections' website (www.njelections.org ) to print out an application.

- Once completed and signed, it can be mailed to their County Clerk up to seven days prior to the general election on November 4.

- A registered voter may also apply in person to the County Clerk until 3:00 p.m. the day before the election.
