SECRETARY OF STATE NINA MITCHELL WELLS REMINDS CITIZENS OF JUNE 3 PRIMARY ELECTION
Trenton, NJ — Tuesday, June 3, 2008 is
Primary Election day in New Jersey. New Jerseyans will be selecting the major
party nominees for United States Senate, United States House of Representatives
and county and municipal offices. Republican primary voters will also choose delegates
for the party’s nominating convention.
The polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Any eligible
voter can also choose to vote by absentee ballot. To vote by absentee ballot within
7 days of the election, however, voters must deliver the absentee ballot application
in person to the office of their county clerk. Absentee ballot applications will
be accepted up to 3:00 p.m. the day before the election (Monday, June 2).
Registered Democrats and Republicans, and Unaffiliated voters,
are only eligible to vote in their party’s primary. Unaffiliated voters
can declare their affiliation at the polls on Primary Day. (Voters who are registered
as members of the Conservative, Green, Libertarian, Natural Law, Reform, or U.S.
Constitution parties are not eligible to vote in the primary).
